According to my beloved WordPress stats, a blog known as “Family Petey” has me linked. This blog is apparently only open to invited readers. Does anyone read this blog? If the owner of this blog is reading this, can you please give me access to your blog or stop linking me? Sorry, this may sound harsh, but I find it a little… unfair (?) that you/someone’s obviously linking my blog/saying something about me, yet denying me access to that information.
Like I said, if the owner of that blog is reading this, please give me access to your blog or stop linking me. Thanks.

Nothing good comes from secrecy. Hopefully “Family Petey” will do the right thing.
I agree. I hate secrets.
I hate when people do that. XD
I find it kind of rude, really.
Never heard of it — sorry. That’s rude.
’tis OK.
They’ve still got me linked, apparently. It’s really just rude. Makes me want to password-protect this whole blog! =P
I have never read that blog, but your post and J.Raible’s post about this similar issue made me realize that it may appear that I have done the same…and completely unintentionally. I used to be at http://www.eastiesandcompany.blogspot.com but I put out a post notifying everyone that I would be moving my blog to http://www.eastiopians.wordpress.com so I would have more options that blogger doesn’t provide, but that I would keep the previous blog as a reference under private so I could look back on it when needed. I didn’t think that some people, who are still linked to my other blog, may not realize that I moved. Hope that makes sense.
I have nothing against protected blogs. I can totally understand and respect when people want to keep things private, particularly when they’re posting about private aspects of their lives and emotional things like adoption. I also agree with keeping things private when posting pics of children. If I had children, I wouldn’t even post them on Facebook, let alone a blog that the entire world can see.
I think the difference is that this blogger has obviously linked me, but hasn’t communicated with me at all. They haven’t e-mailed me to say they read my blog and that they’re linking me, they haven’t commented on my blog, nor have they even left me any sort of contact detail that I can contact them by, yet they think they can link my blog: share my information with whomever they choose and not say a thing to me. I find that extremely disrespectful, and I can’t help but feel that the information I’m sharing here is just a commodity that can be taken for granted in that way. If they’re going to link me on a private blog, fine. But at least contact me to ask/say so and to say hi. I AM human, too.
I agree. Just wanted you to know that I had moved my blog and linked you too, but failed to notify you. I apologize for that. Most of my blog is public. I really only have a protected post when I talk about something I don’t a) want my co-workers to read or b) something about my kids that I don’t want floating around the internet. I am a pretty public person though. Who knows if that will come back to bite me or not. Thank you for all that you continue to do. I think your blog is VERY helpful.
